'Sons of Anarchy' Season 5: Jax Falls Off a Bridge - The First Teaser

The SAMCRO guys are back on their saddles in the first promo of "Sons of Anarchy" season 5. Set to "Trouble Weighs a Ton" by The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach, the video which lands online via Yahoo! TV sees Jax and other bikers riding through a bridge with Tara and Gemma waiting for them.

When Tara raises her hands as if to stop them, Jax's bike steers off the bridge and crashes the guardrail, causing him to fly in the air. While Clay and the other guys look unfazed, Gemma shows a horrified expression and Tara screams.

Before the fifth season kicks off this fall, FX will bring the show to San Diego Comic-Con on Sunday, July 15. Ashley Tisdale, who is best known for playing Sharpay Evans in the "High School Musical" films, is cast as a high-priced escort who will complicate the club's life.

With Jax now taking over the reign of SAMCRO, things may turn physical between Clay's wife Gemma and Jax's fiancee Tara. "Gemma loves Tara but might just be a little threatened by her now that she's suddenly been displaced as queen of the club," Katey Sagal said of her character. "Gemma - who'll be getting her drink on - doesn't like to take s*** from anybody!"

As for Tara, Maggie Siff revealed her character "will be getting a little more messed- up in the head and volatile." She added, "You will also see her smoking pot to take the edge off."

'Sons of Anarchy' Handsome Con Man - Joel McHale

When he's not hanging out with the "Community" gang, Joel McHale will be seen spending some time with the "Sons of Anarchy" guys. It has been confirmed that the 40-year-old actor will join the fifth season of the biker drama in a multi-episode arc.

According to TVLine which first reported the news, the "Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World" star will tackle the role of Warren. He is described as "a handsome con man who picks the wrong person to double-cross."

McHale has apparently begun filming his scenes since series regular Katey Sagal recently posted on her Twitter page a picture featuring herself standing next to the host of "The Soup". "Working with a handsome stranger. Yeow! Lucky girl. Love my job," the Gemma depicter tweeted on Thursday, July 12.

Prior to McHale, Ashley Tisdale has been cast in "SOA" season 5 as a high-priced escort named Emma Jean who will complicate the club's life. The show will invade San Diego Comic-Con on Sunday, July 15.

McHale, meanwhile, has made appearance at the annual convention on Friday with his Greendale gang, including Yvette Nicole Brown, Gillian Jacobs, Alison Brie and Danny Pudi.

'Sons of Anarchy': What to expect in season 5?

Somehow, someway, Clay survived season 4 of Sons of Anarchy. But does that mean the former SAMCRO prez is now in the clear, or are his days still numbered? Mandi Bierly and I discuss that and more as we preview Sons of Anarchy’s upcoming season 5 on the latest edition of the InsideTV Podcast.
What can we expect from the new additions of Jimmy Smits and Harold Perrineau? What is Gemma’s next move? And how will Jax react to being at the head of the table? We’ve seen the first two episodes and will provide our thoughts and teases as for what to expect. Just click on the audio player icon below to hear Mandi and me break it down. (The Sons of Anarchy discussion begins at 14 minutes in.)
But first, Dan Snierson and Melissa Maerz stop by to discuss and debate the Breaking Bad 2012 finale. Is Walt’s cancer back? Is Jesse really out? And should we be rooting for Heisenberg at this point, or against him? We answer all that and present theories as to how the whole thing may end. Plus, Annie Barrett calls in preview the new (and hopefully improved) X Factor. Will the addition of Britney Spears and Demi Lovato make the show watchable? Is it worth giving The X Factor another shot? (The X Factor chat starts at 26:00.)

Sons of Anarchy Wiki

Sons of Anarchy is an American television drama series created by Kurt Sutter about the lives of a close-knit outlaw motorcycle club operating in Charming, a fictional town in the Central Valley of Northern California. The show centers on protagonist Jackson "Jax" Teller (Charlie Hunnam), the then-Vice President of the club who begins questioning the club and himself.
Sons of Anarchy premiered on September 3, 2008, on cable network FX. The third season of the series attracted an average of 4.9 million viewers per week, making it FX's highest rated series ever, surpassing FX's other hits The Shield, Nip/Tuck, and Rescue Me. On February 3, 2012, Sons of Anarchy was renewed for two additional seasons, a fifth and a sixth. Those involved in the production of the series infer that a seventh and final season is the creator, Kurt Sutter,'s plan.
